Rules & Regulations
The following is a summary of the OFFICIAL Rules & Regulations for the tournament.
- Tournament Format
- The tournament consists of 2 groups, each having 4 players.
- Groups will be named Group 1 and Group 2.
- Matches will follow a round-robin format in the group stage, where each player plays against all other players in their group.
- The top 2 players from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
- Winners of the semi-finals will play in the final to determine the champion.
- Scoring System
- Matches will be played as best of 2 sets. A 10-point TIEBREAKER will determine the winner if it’s a draw.
- Standard tennis rules apply
- A player must win a set by 6 games with at least 2-game difference.
- If the score reaches 6-6, a tie-breaker (first to 7 points, win by 2) will be played
- Points allocation in group stage
- Win = 2 points
- Loss = 0 points
- No draws allowed.
- Group ranking will be based on
- Total points
- Head-to-head result (if points are tied)
- Set difference
- Game difference
- Toss won
- Semi-Final and Final

- 1st in Group 1 vs 2nd in Group 2
- 1st in Group 2 vs 2nd in Group 1
- Winners proceed to the Final.
- Final will also be best of 2 sets under the same rules.

- Code of Conduct
- Players must arrive 15 minutes before the match start time.
- Warm-up time: 5 minutes before the match.
- Players must respect the umpire’s decisions.
- Any misconduct or unsportsmanlike behavior may lead to point penalties or disqualification.
- It is expected that the non-playing players will referee the match
- Equipment and Dress Code
- Players must wear proper tennis attire and shoes.
- Each player should bring their own racquet.
- Official tournament balls will not be provided. Players will bring the standard PENN branded balls
- If the weather conditions are not in favor, we will move to indoor facilities – GOT TO WATCH OUT THE WEATHER APP)
- Tie and Walkover Rules
- A player failing to appear within 15 minutes of the scheduled time will forfeit the match (walkover).
- Injuries or retirements during a match will result in the opponent being declared the winner.
- The injured player will have their score halted at the point it was in the previous game.
- If this injury occurs during their 2nd Set – the score will be drawn and the potential tie breaker is not applicable – the game will be lost by the injured player.

- Awards: TBD
- Champion: Trophy + Medal
- Runner-up: Medal
- Fair Play Award: For the most disciplined player.
